About This Role

We're looking for a Frontend Engineer who cares deeply about user experience and code quality. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining the user interfaces of our SaaS products, working closely with our design and backend teams. You'll own features end-to-end — from translating Figma designs into responsive, accessible components to optimizing performance and ensuring a smooth user experience across devices. This is a role for someone who takes pride in their craft and wants to build software that thousands of students, teachers, and administrators rely on every day.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain responsive, accessible user interfaces using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS
  • Translate design mockups and wireframes into high-quality, performant code
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure UI reliability
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to frontend architecture decisions
  • Optimize application performance for maximum speed and scalability
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to our component library

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience building web applications with React
  • Strong understanding of TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Experience with modern CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS
  • Familiarity with Next.js and the App Router
  • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)
  • Good understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP)
  • Knowledge of Node.js and API development
  • Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Playwright, Vitest)
  • Contributions to open source projects
  • Experience building design systems or component libraries
