Why We Started Yukta
The story behind our mission to build reliable education technology in Nepal — and why we believe it matters globally.

The Problem We Saw
Walk into any school office in Nepal and you'll see the same thing: stacks of paper registers, Excel spreadsheets stretched to their limits, and software that looks like it was designed in 2005. It's not that schools don't want better systems — they do. But the options available are either too expensive, too complex, or too unreliable.
We saw this firsthand. Our founders have spent years working with educational institutions, and the frustration was always the same: "We need something that just works."
Why Education?
Education is one of the most impactful sectors to work in, yet it's one of the most underserved by technology — especially in emerging markets. The data challenges are real: student records get lost, attendance tracking is manual and error-prone, and reporting to regulatory bodies is a nightmare.
We chose education not because it's the easiest market, but because it's where we can make the most difference. Every student deserves a system that keeps their records safe and accessible. Every teacher deserves tools that reduce busywork. Every parent deserves visibility into their child's progress.
Our Approach
We're not trying to build the next flashy ed-tech startup. We're building infrastructure — the kind of boring, reliable software that institutions can depend on for decades. Think of us as the plumbing of educational technology.
This means we obsess over data integrity, system reliability, and user trust. We move deliberately, test thoroughly, and ship carefully. It's not the fastest way to build a company, but it's the right way to build one that lasts.
What's Next
Yedu, our Education Management System, is entering its launch phase. We're partnering with schools and colleges in Nepal for our initial rollout, with plans to expand across South Asia. The journey is just beginning, but the foundation is solid.
